A Teacher's Light...

"A good teacher is like a candle- it consumes itself to light the way for others."

 I have found that through making my blog, I have been drawn to speaking about the light that teachers can show to their students.  In my box logic video and even reflecting on the importance of our job, I have been realizing how fortunate we all are to have chosen this field.  I loved this quote, because I believe that only when we have given ourselves completely to our students and their needs can we really truly help them and "let their light shine".  I loved this picture, I feel like it is a great representation of what love and light can do to any dark room or sad heart.

Where Would We Be?

Where would you be without a teacher?

Without love and recognition?

Without addition and subtraction?

Without learning and writing the alphabet?

Would we have doctors, scientists, artists or vets?

The answer to this question is quite simple:

We would be nowhere, and I am not just talking about the teacher's pets!

Teachers are role models who teach not only curriculum, but also life's lessons...

Both easy and hard.

School is where we begin our journey to the person we want to be...

And often times, teachers are our best tour guides!

Changes in my Blog

I changed a few of the aspects of my layout on this blog, I wanted a picture of me to be near the top, so that people could view my profile easier.  I also added a quote under my name.  I think this quote is so powerful and shows the power of a good person and in our case a good teacher.  As a teacher, we have the ability to help and love multiple students and help them grow into great people... how lucky are we!!

If I were in charge of the world...

Icecream and candy would be nutritional,

Watching T.V would be a workout, and

Everyone would have a soundtrack to their life.

If I were in charge of the world...

Everyone would know Mizzou was the best school and that Kansas should never be acknowledged,

Every Saturday would be football Saturday,

If you went to class, you would recieve a 4.0 GPA.

If I were in charge of the world...

No one would know pain and love would fill every street, jungle, ocean and desert,

People would know peace and hope, and

There would really be a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow!

If I were in charge of the world...

There would be no racism or hate crimes,

There would be unity amoung families, communities, and nations, and

The color of a person's skin would only decide the strength of SPF that was needed!

If I were in charge of the world...

It would be an awesome place...but unfortunately I am not incharge of the world!

But one day I will be in charge of a classroom!

This classroom will love music, Saturdays, Mizzou, and most importantly each other!
