God, in the dark of failure,
You show some promise,
The True Savior,
The Pearls,
Your life, you rowork, your hopes and thoughts and songs and breath, we have decided to publish your book.
Stories sad and stories happy and stories of laughter and tears and places soft and hard, stories of great men and beautiful women and souls and devils and gods, stories of dreams and found joys and aches and torture and great rolling hills and towering storms.
She handed me a book and I consider every good thing that has happened to me since then to be a result of that one woman taking the time to hand one troubled kid who didn't particularly read a book.
But the sact of reading certainly saved my life.
I absolutely love this poem. I can't believe how you arranged the sayings to make such an incredible piece of writing. This was the perfect arrangement and really conveys an awesome message!
ReplyDeleteThis poem is wonderful. I can't believe you didn't share this with us for the Expressive Sound Poem. It has such powerful emotions and you did a wonderful job of pulling lines from the article that made them sound like they were made for this poem. Everything fits together really well and you wouldn't even know the man was talking about writing instead of the Bible.
